For the hull connection, I removed one of my existing hoodstrap bolts, drilled the hole out to 3/8" and replaced the bolt with an eye. I had to buy 1/2" washers to get some big ones, so I stacked two of those on the inside and outside of the hull, and stacked a 3/8" washer on top of them for the eye and the nut.
